It stands just over 5 feet tall and is pretty puffy at the bottom (it takes up a lot of space in my living room) so 400 mini-lights and 72 ft of rope garland later (not to mention the 8 ornaments that mom sent me) this:

Hope everyone is having fun Christmas Shopping (mine is all done by the way, and I must agree Deb I totally missed having a few drinks while trying to fight the crowds at the mall. Drinking and shopping really do go well together).
There is still no snow here and the temperature has only been below zero a couple times so it is a little hard to get in the spirit of the season however the tree and the few decorations help. I will be working Christmas so nothing exciting planned. I am sure the surgeons will not be very active however the nursing homes tend to empty into the hospitals around the holidays (we are still trying to discharge some of our Thanksgiving admissions but of course now that they're in odds are they will never leave) so expect things will not be that quiet.
Hope you all have a great Christmas. I will be thinking of you all.

Hey, Christmas away can be fun too...I had my first one when I was 17...you get to start all your own new traditions (I don't seuggest working on Christmas be one of them!) Have a great holiday, looking forward to seeing you when you get back (you have to meet the little one, he's growing up fast!)
