Well I did have a couple of nice days last week before all the rain hit (stupid nor'easter....yeah that's right, I called the nor'easter stupid). The weather has been really crazy this spring. It has been warm (although much colder than usual I have been told) but very wet. At least we are getting rain and not snow though. (I was quite happy to see that there was no snow in Calgary on BSD, or at least not in the pictures I saw).
I finally made my way down to the waterfront. I had almost forgotten how much I love hanging out by the water but I was quickly reminded. I wanted to go swimming but the water was way too rough. I'm pretty sure I would have drowned but let's face it, it's not bikini season yet anyway. Alberta really is lacking in ocean front property and salty sea air. I guess that's what happens when you're land locked. Anyway, I plan on hitting the beaches later this summer so I am sure I will be water logged very soon.

I also made my way to East Rock Park. I have been trying to get here for a few weeks but did not know where it was. I could see the Civil War monument from the interstate but had absolutly no idea how to get to it (if I had at least known it was East Rock Park my GPS system would have gotten me there but I did not even know that.) New Haven is a pretty flat place however it is surrounded on the east side by East Rock and on the west side by West Rock (yeah I know, really clever names.) It does give you a great view of the city and I have been told it is a quick 20 minute walk up (I drove this time but maybe next time I will make the hike). West Rock is also on my list of things to visit but will have to wait until it drys out a bit.The Civil War Monument on East Rock

View of downtown New Haven from the top of East Rock. My hospital is also somewhere in this picture, as well as Yale.
Look what I found from the top of East Rock..and just in time too.
