Friday June 3rd and Sunday June 5th, 2011
Don't worry I didn't forget Saturday. I just put it in another post. And the cheesecake turned out perfect.....but we decided to give the cupcakes to our guests and keep it for ourselves.
Anyway, as you should all know, Debi's birthday is just around the corner but she wasn't going to be in town for it, so we had a rooftop party a few days early. I decided that after her extra efforts for my birthday that I would attempt some baking. That got mildly derailed Thursday night when Scott showed up with a friend (Benny) after they decided that Benny's dinner party was being moved to our apartment. As you can imagine I was not very happy (the one night that I actually wanted to use the kitchen) but I made it very clear that the kitchen was mine and they were going to have to work around me. They did.
Anyway, my masterpieces turned out pretty good.
My cheesecake. Two layers (one dark chocolate, one white chocolate). It turned out perfect (or at least I think so). I had never made a real baked cheesecake before but I am pretty impressed with my efforts.
I also made some lemon squares, because they are one of Debi's favourite, and made a special plate just for her. Debi was impressed and I kind of think Scott was too.
Anyway, we had a few people over for some drinks Friday night......and I gave them some cupcakes (which apparently were good.....they were all gone by the time the night ended so I assume they were) and then Saturday we were off to the races (see next post).

Sunday we thought it was about time to cut into that beautifully perfect looking cheesecake. It was almost a shame but it had to be eaten.
I even put candles on it.
Look at that. Perfect.......and so good too.
So if you thought this post was about Debi's birthday......you're wrong. It's just to prove that I do every once in a while use the kitchen......and use it well..... just don't ask me to cook dinner.
