Today Jeff and I didn't have much planned. After my very long journey and my later than planned last evening I ended up sleeping in....and got up in time for lunch. Jeff is a pretty stereotypical bachelor, so doesn't keep a lot of food in the house (booze and Canadian chocolate mostly) but I quickly learnt how easy (and cheap) it is to order in a whole lot of good food (really reminds of my days in NYC). So Jeff ordered in some great breakfast and then we headed out to do some last minute shopping. Not that we had a lot to buy but Jeff wanted some binoculars (for all the animal watching) and he needed to meet a friend to pick up a camera and mostly I needed to be active so I could go to sleep at a decent hour. We checked out the mall and a few other shops. I found the last few things I needed. Jeff got everything he needed and then we headed back to his place for an earlier dinner.
Dinner gave me the opportunity to experience my first Argentina steak. We decided to have a nice "light" dinner, so Jeff ordered some "medium sized" steaks. What we got was not so "medium" sized but was most certainly fantastic.
It was a pretty early night for both of us, because it would be a much earlier morning.
Our trek to Antarctica starts at 0230.
