So you may have noticed I've been a little behind on the blogging but I'm trying very hard to get caught up. Of course in that rush to get caught up I bypassed a few things that I wanted to share. So here are those things all in one post.

If there is one thing guaranteed living here in the KSA (other than everything closing at prayer time), is that people come and go......and it always seems like some one is leaving. We are quite often throwing Ma'salamas (Good-bye in Arabic) for people. Today was no different as our friend and colleague Mai was getting set to head back to the UK, followed by Nepal, followed by Abu Dhabi.
She organised a very nice dinner at the Al Khozama Hotel. They have a great courtyard (where abayas are optional) and some great food....and a great view of Faisaliah Tower.
No abayas, coed conversation....always nice. This is Mai, Coralie and Dan.
Mai and Biswol (from Nepal). Yes, Mai and Biswol are expecting their first child (Mai has since given birth to a baby boy named Rowen) and since things are not really set up in Saudi for couples like them (as in expats......we are all here on "single status" contracts and it can become very expensive to live as a couple/family. Pregnancy is not covered in our health care coverage from the hospital) they will be heading off elsewhere to raise their family.
A bunch of the nurses from C3. In this picture is Lola, Mai, Ahmed, Naomi, Me, Coralie, Sandie, Aisling, Lara and MJ.
Always sad to say good-bye to people but always exciting to see them off to live a new exciting adventure. Wishing Mai and Biswol (and little Rowen) all the best.

Thursday mornings at work tend to be a little quiet (because our Thursday is everyone else's Saturday) and the workmen on the construction site tend to come in much later in the day. So the construction site outside our patient's windows looks like a giant parking lot.
How many backhoes does one hospital need? Apparently this many.

Oktoberfest visited Eskan so a whole bunch of us decided to head out there for the night. It was pretty fun. Lots of music and food and of course beer. We took a few pictures before the night got going......then like many Eskan nights we lose the cameras and just enjoy the fun.
Yin Yin and I with the beer stein our friend Summit won.
We all have to drink a little from the big cup (of course there wasn't actually any beer in it but we can pretend).
As usual, Eskan provided us with some wonderful entertainment and a good time was had by all.

Home for one day from my trip and already finding new things around my house.
Volleyball anyone? Now I commend the hospital in their attempt to provide the girls in MCV (that's my housing complex) with things to do, but I'm not sure this is the best place for a volleyball net.
There......all caught up.....sort of. Sorry I've been busy.
